Brookhaven, Ga July 21, 2020— Today, Brookhaven Police Chief Gary Yandura was recognized as the 2020 “Outstanding Chief of the Year” by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP).

Brookhaven, GA, July 9, 2020 – Today, Mayor John Ernst signed an executive order requiring the use of face masks for everyone entering a commercial establishment in Brookhaven to prevent the escalating spread of COVID-19.

“The City of Brookhaven has been taking progressive steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, dating back to February.  However, with more than 100,000 cases in Georgia, and thousands more being reported every day, we must take additional steps to ensure the health and well-being of the general public,” said Mayor Ernst.

Permit fees reduced or waived through August 31

Brookhaven, GA, June 23, 2020 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting today, June 23, at 7 p.m.  However, in consideration of social distancing recommendations by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and State Board of Health, the meeting will be held via video conference.

Brookhaven, GA, June 12, 2020 – Brookhaven Municipal Court’s regularly scheduled court sessions will resume on Monday, June 15, 2020, with special procedures to protect the health and safety of those appearing in court. The Court is currently rescheduling cases that were cancelled due to COVID-19 during March, April, May, and early June.

Brookhaven, GA, May 29, 2020 – As Brookhaven City Hall and other City facilities finalize plans to reopen to the public on June 1, a new City ordinance will require all visitors and employees to wear face masks as the fight continues against the spread of COVID-19.
