City Council virtual meeting on June 9

Brookhaven, GA, June 9, 2020 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting today, June 9, at 7 p.m.  However, in consideration of social distancing recommendations by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and State Board of Health, the meeting will be held via video conference. 

In order to ensure transparency and accountability, the meeting will be broadcast on Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/BrookhavenGAgov.  The public will be able to weigh in during Public Hearings and Public Comment by any of the following:

The agenda for the June 9 business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A presentation about the Police Department Transparency Project.
  • Department reports, including an operations report from the City Manager.
  • Presentation about the 2020 Tree Canopy Study Update.
  • A presentation and public hearing on the 2020 Millage rate.  There will be no vote on this item at this meeting.  There will be additional public hearings and City Council consideration on June 23.
  • A public comment availability.
  • A consent agenda to approve minutes of the May 26 virtual meeting and to approve a resolution allowing the mayor to sign an easement agreement with Georgia Power for work associated with the Briarwood Park Bond Pool Project.
  • An ordinance to make administrative changes to the current stormwater service fee rates.
