Brookhaven, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta formalize partnership Brookhaven City Council Approves Community Investment Agreement, Annexation and Text Amendment to Allow Creation of Transformative Healthcare Campus ATLANTA (Dec. 13, 2017) – The Brookhaven City Council last night approved several related items that will enable Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to move forward with its planned North Druid Hills campus. The 72-acre campus will provide a healing center for families, reconnect several neighborhoods and urban centers and be a catalyst for more than $40 million of transportation improvements in the surrounding area. |

Brookhaven’s Red & White Ball canceled FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brookhaven’s Red & White Ball canceled Brookhaven, GA, Dec. 9, 2017 – Due to weather conditions, Brookhaven Parks and Recreation’s annual Red & White Ball, originally set for Saturday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Lynwood Recreation Center, will be cancelled. Lynwood Park Recreation Center will remain closed for the rest of Saturday, and Briarwood Recreation Center is scheduled to open at noon Saturday. Brookhaven Development Authority approves $45 million agreement with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brookhaven, GA, Dec. 7, 2017 – The Brookhaven Development Authority approved a historic Community Investment Agreement (CIA) with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Children’s) totaling up to $45.1 million in proceeds. The Brookhaven City Council will consider a reciprocal intergovernmental agreement on Dec. 12 with the Development Authority which would give effect to the CIA if approved. |

Brookhaven appoints Peachtree Creek Greenway steering committee July 2017 Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst appointed members to the Peachtree Creek Steering Committee at the City’s June 29 council meeting. The Committee will provide critical oversight and guidance to the PATH Foundation as it completes engineering studies and prepares final construction documents for Phase I (North Druid Hills Rd to Briarwood Rd) of the Peachtree Creek Greenway. This phase runs approximately 1.25 miles. |

The Brookhaven City Council votes to adopt Peachtree Creek Greenway Master Plan August 2016 Heath & Lineback Engineers presented the Master Plan for the Peachtree Creek Greenway (formerly North Fork Peachtree Creek Greenway). The plan presents a framework for constructing an integrated system of multi-use and natural trails along the North Fork of Peachtree Creek. The North Fork begins just outside I-285 and generally follows I-85 until it joins the South Fork of Peachtree Creek near the Lindbergh MARTA station. |
