Brookhaven finalizes winning grant for Briarwood Park Nature Trail
$100,000 award funds construction in 2018

Brookhaven, GA, Jan. 12, 2018 – Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst recently signed contracts with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to utilize $100,000 in state grant funding to build a one-mile trail through Briarwood Park.

Brookhaven, GA, Jan 10, 2018 – During Tuesday’s meeting, Councilmembers John Park and Joe Gebbia were sworn in for their next terms following their successful re-elections in 2017.

District 2 Council Representative John Park began his first term in 2014 and was reelected in an uncontested election this past year. Councilmember Park was sworn in by DeKalb State Court Judge Alvin Wong and will continue to serve Brookhaven’s District 2 for the next four years.

“Part of the job of being mayor is to create a platform on matters of public interest to educate, inform, and receive feedback from the community that we collectively serve,” said Mayor Ernst.

This month’s town hall meeting will feature reports from various City of Brookhaven department directors and an open forum question and answer session.

Brookhaven, GA, Nov. 15, 2017 –  The Brookhaven Peachtree Overlay District Rewrite is available for public review based on the input given by City Council at the Nov. 28, 2017 meeting. The public will now have the opportunity to review and analyze the draft version of the Overlay District Rewrite online. The final adoption of the updates will take place at the Jan. 23, 2018 City Council meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road.

Brookhaven, GA, Dec. 7, 2017 – The Brookhaven Development Authority approved a historic Community Investment Agreement (CIA) with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Children’s) totaling up to $45.1 million in proceeds.  The Brookhaven City Council will consider a reciprocal intergovernmental agreement on Dec. 12 with the Development Authority which would give effect to the CIA if approved.

Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst appointed members to the Peachtree Creek Steering Committee at the City’s June 29 council meeting. 

The Committee will provide critical oversight and guidance to the PATH Foundation as it completes engineering studies and prepares final construction documents for Phase I (North Druid Hills Rd to Briarwood Rd) of the Peachtree Creek Greenway. This phase runs approximately 1.25 miles.

Approval of Brookhaven’s record-setting paving contract ensures safer and smoother rides for commuters

Brookhaven, GA, Apr. 12, 2017 – The Brookhaven City Council approved a $4.72 million contract for road paving, the most aggressive in City history.

City Council voted to engage the PATH Foundation to conduct engineering for Phase I (North Druid Hills Rd to Briarwood Rd) of the Peachtree Creek Greenway at their March 14 meeting.
