City Council gives green light to "world-class" dog park Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 14, 2018 -- A large portion of Brookhaven Park, 4158 Peachtree Road, is now officially on its way to becoming home to a “world-class” off-leash dog park, thanks to action taken last night by City Council members. The Council approved a contract not to exceed $50,000 to make the dog park a reality. |

Brookhaven pooches invited to make a last splash at Doggy Dip Day FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 8, 2018 – Brookhaven Parks & Recreation Department invites pooches to come out and enjoy one last splash of summer at Doggy Dip Day. The event takes place at Murphey Candler pool on Sunday, Sept. 9. Small dogs up to 35 pounds will be let in the pool from 1 to 2:30 p.m., while larger dogs weighing more than 35 pounds can jump in from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per dog. |

Brookhaven to enforce alcohol provisions at adult club FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 1, 2018 – Based upon a July 26 ruling in federal court, the City of Brookhaven will be enforcing the provisions of its alcohol ordinance at the Pink Pony, 1837 Corporate Blvd NE, in Brookhaven. The adult establishment has been operating under a settlement agreement since 2014. Under the terms of that agreement, which expires in 2019, the Pink Pony pays the City of Brookhaven $225,000 annually, and could remain open until 4 a.m. |

Brookhaven places ‘Brunch Bill’ on November ballot Brookhaven, GA, July 24, 2018 – Brookhaven voters will decide on Nov. 6 if restaurants in the City can start serving alcoholic beverages a little earlier on Sundays. The Mayor and City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to allow the “Brunch Bill” on the General Election ballot. If passed, restaurants will be able to serve alcohol from 11 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Sundays. Currently, Sunday hours are from 12:30 to 11:59 p.m. |

Brookhaven approves funding for Municipal Maintenance Yard Brookhaven, GA, July 24, 2018 – The Brookhaven City Council unanimously approved a contract in the amount of $113,690 with Pro Building System to establish a Public Works and Parks Maintenance Yard. The yard will be located at 1793 Briarwood Road, and eliminate the need to store Public Works equipment at the current location at Osborne Park. |

Brookhaven begins maintenance at Murphey Candler spillway Brookhaven, GA, July 20, 2018—The Brookhaven Public Works Department and contractors from Site Engineering are conducting maintenance at the Murphey Candler Spillway site. Over the next several weeks, workers will be clearing shrubs and other vegetation, performing minor concrete resurfacing, and conducting site inspections. During this time, it is expected that the work will have minimal impact on the activities of park visitors, although when the concrete work begins, the sidewalk at the spillway may be closed for a few days. |
