Brookhaven selects location for new public safety facility FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Nineteen-acre PCG trailhead site utilized, contract awarded to Rosser Int’l Brookhaven, GA, May 8, 2018 – The Brookhaven City Council executed a contract to conduct architecture and engineering work for Brookhaven’s new public safety facility on the 19-acre tract of land at 1793 Briarwood Road. The new police building will be adjacent to the signature trailhead for the Peachtree Creek Greenway (PCG) and will be the new home for Brookhaven Police, Municipal Court and Emergency Operations Center. |

Brookhaven hosts successful events during Georgia Cities Week The City of Brookhaven participated in Georgia’s Cities Week, a statewide campaign by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) to bring awareness about local government. Georgia’s Cities Week was April 22-28, with the theme “Georgia's Cities: In the Spotlight!” Five different activities took place during this week. On Sunday, April 22, Brookhaven was one of the sponsors responsible for bringing renowned international flautist, Elena Durán to Brookhaven. Brookhaven residents were able to enjoy the free event at the Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University. |

Brookhaven begins alcohol license suspension Fraudulent applications noted, suspensions begin in May Brookhaven, GA, April 23, 2018 – The City of Brookhaven has identified eight business with fraudulent alcohol license renewal applications and began the administrative act of suspending those licenses. “Based on the evidence gathered on April 7 your application provides false information by failing to acknowledge your business model. Accordingly, the application is fraudulent and violates City of Brookhaven Code,” the suspension letter states. The suspensions take effect May 18. |

The acquisitions are a very significant milestone in order to complete the Peachtree Creek Greenway (PCG) which will ultimately become a 2.98-mile multi-purpose linear park and alternative transportation system along the North Fork of Peachtree Creek. |

Brookhaven completes Phase 1 of 2018 paving list Seventeen roads totaling 2.21 miles are now Brookhaven’s smoothest Brookhaven, GA, April 6, 2018 – The City of Brookhaven has made substantial progress toward an aggressive 2018 paving schedule with the completion of all roads in Phase 1 on March 29. Seventeen roads totaling 2.21 miles have been resurfaced or fully reconstructed. In November, the Brookhaven City Council authorized a measure to jump-start the 2018 paving and leveraging the pricing schedule provided in its 2017 paving contract. In 2017, Brookhaven paved 12.2 miles of road. |

Atlanta Regional Commission approves $560,000 for Ashford Dunwoody intersection improvements First federally-funded project in the Ashford Dunwoody Corridor Study On Feb. 27, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) voted to award the City of Brookhaven $560,000 in federal Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) funding toward the Ashford Dunwoody/ Windsor Parkway intersection and complete street improvements to Ashford Dunwoody Road between Oglethorpe Drive and Windsor Parkway. This is the first project from the Ashford Dunwoody Corridor Study to be placed in the regional plan and approved for federal funding. |
