Brookhaven closes illegal day care center The Precious Moments Nursery, 3776 Clairmont Road Brookhaven, GA, May 13, 2019 – The Brookhaven Fire Marshal closed and cited an illegal daycare center located on Clairmont Road. Precious Moments Nursery, located at 3776 Clairmont Road, was closed at 5 p.m. on May 8. Brookhaven Fire Marshal Joe Burge noted that the facility had numerous safety issues including no sprinkler systems, obstructed ingress and egress, and no fire barriers between the two floors. |

Murphey Candler parking lot complete and open FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brookhaven, GA, April 29, 2019 – The long-awaited expanded parking lot at Murphey Candler Park is now open for business. The project was delayed by unusually wet weather in winter and spring as well as coordination with the football leagues last fall. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation through our growing pains,” said City Manager Christian Sigman. The $400,000 improvements increase the parking at Murphey Candler to more than 100 spaces and improves drainage in the area. |

Brookhaven approves changes to allow short term rentals Brookhaven, GA, April 25, 2019 – At its April 23, meeting, the Brookhaven City Council made changes to its zoning ordinance to allow all homeowners to engage in short term rentals under certain conditions. In November 2018, Brookhaven adopted a complete zoning code rewrite which included regulations that only allowed short-term rentals in areas currently zoned for a multi-family use with a Special Land Use Permit (SLUP). |
