Federal alcohol lawsuit dismissed Judgment preserves existing ordinances Brookhaven, GA, March 21, 2019 --- Today, a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit against Brookhaven over its alcohol ordinance, ending a dispute without any finding that the City’s ordinances are unlawful or discriminatory. “This is a win for the residents of Brookhaven,” said City Attorney Chris Balch. “Our current ordinance remains intact and in force, enhancing safety in the area and preserving the quality of life for those who live here.” |

Brookhaven awards two sidewalk projects The red lines depicts where sidewalks will be constructed on E. Drew Valley Road Brookhaven, GA, March 12, 2019 – The Brookhaven City Council advanced its sidewalk program with the award of two sidewalk projects. The Council unanimously approved contracts with DAF Concrete Inc. for the E. Drew Valley Road sidewalk in the amount of $34,000, and for the Cheshire Way sidewalk in the amount of $38,000. |

March 10 – Hit and Run, 3500 Block of Buford Hwy: Shortly after it was reported stolen, (see below) a green 2007 Toyota Camry was involved in a hit-and-run accident. The Camry fled the scene, but sustained passenger side and trunk damage. |

Police arrest suspect in road rage incident FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brookhaven, GA, March 1, 2019 –Brookhaven police arrested a suspect in a road rage incident in which gunshots were fired near E. Roxboro Road and North Druid Hills. At 9:25 a.m. on Thursday, officers were dispatched to calls regarding shots fired. Both parties spoke with police. The victim, from Acworth, was driving with his wife and three children, ages 6, 4, and 3. He was attempting to merge into traffic and says he was cut off by the suspect. |
