Brookhaven postpones nightclub suspension

Brookhaven, GA, April 26, 2019 – The City of Brookhaven has postponed enforcement of the suspension of the alcohol license for Medusa nightclub located on Buford Highway.

Brookhaven was contacted by the club’s attorney today who acknowledged notification, requested to meet with Brookhaven’s Chief Financial Officer, and to be included in the next hearing of the Brookhaven Alcohol Hearing Officer, scheduled for May 7. 

“Though Medusa has repeatedly not accepted certified mail as part of the City’s attempt to gain tax compliance, Brookhaven is a business-friendly community and strives to resolve tax compliance matters without shutting businesses down,” said City Manager Christian Sigman. “Medusa has finally acknowledged the City is trying to enforce the excise tax and they have agreed appear at the May 7 hearing date.”
