Available Tax Exemptions for Veterans:
1. Veteran/Veteran Spousal Exemption – There are no ages or financial requirements for this exemption. Exemption provides savings of $83,580 for school levies and $81,080 for all other levies.
2. Disabled Veterans Exemption – Disabled veterans who have reached the age of 65 as of January 1 AND meet the requirements for the H5 disabled veterans exemption (above) may be eligible. There is a household income limit of $10,000 Georgia Net Income*. It exempts the applicant from all school and state taxes, and provides exemption of $81,080 for all other levies. This exemption may be transferred to, or applied for by, un-remarried widow(er) of a disabled veteran or to the un-remarried surviving spouse of a US service member killed in action.

Housing Authority of DeKalb County - HADC operates a wide variety of programs that are designed to provide affordable housing solutions to DeKalb County residents.

Meals on Wheels Atlanta – For veterans in the Metro Atlanta area who own their home, Meals on Wheels Atlanta works with clients to provide a safe home that is accessible and up to code, with the goal of allowing the senior to remain in their home and be independent for a long as possible. Home Repair Services focuses primarily on minor repairs to areas occupied and utilized by the senior so that each senior has safe and usable access to spaces such as the bathroom, kitchen, living and sleeping areas.
