Windsor Osborne input meeting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 25, 2021 – Do you live, work, or play around the Windsor Parkway and Osborne Road area of Brookhaven? If you answered yes, Brookhaven wants to hear from you.

Through January 2022, the City of Brookhaven is partnering with community members, area leaders, and property owners to envision future opportunities for development at the intersection of Windsor and Osborne.

“The goal is to collaborate on a realistic vision and achievable steps to meet the community’s goals regarding future growth in the neighborhood,” said Community Development Director Linda Abaray.

The intent of this initiative is to create a special area plan by expanding on the Lynwood Park Character Area and Big Idea: Windsor-Osborne Node that was included as part of City’s 2016 Character Area Study, a supplement to the City of Brookhaven 2034 Comprehensive Plan. The plan will also factor in the Windsor Parkway/Osborne Road roundabout design and its pending implementation when visioning the area’s potential and future development.

During the 2016 Character Area Study, residents of Brookhaven had the opportunity to help shape the future of distinct character areas in the city. The community envisioned maintaining Lynwood Park as a traditional neighborhood while also encouraging neighborhood-scale commercial. The Character Area Study also identified three “big ideas” for the City of Brookhaven. One of these ideas is promoting neighborhood commercial at the intersection of Windsor Parkway and Osborne Road.

“The community’s ongoing input in this process will continue to guide improvements in this area,” Abaray said.

The community can provide input by attending a meeting or visiting the project website at www.WindsorOsbornePlan.com.

The first meeting will take place virtually on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. Community members can access the meeting by joining online or calling in:
