Brookhaven, GA, April 13, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting today, April 13, at 7 p.m. In consideration of social distancing recommendations by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and State Board of Health, the meeting will be held via video conference.

The new facility features a climbing castle with a tightrope bridge, new double swing set, a tree climber tower, springers and new walkway.

Brookhaven is recognized for outstanding government finance practices for fifth year

Brookhaven, Ga, March 16, 2021 – For yet another year the City of Brookhaven’s Finance Department has won the Excellence in Financial Reporting Award from the Government Finance Officers Association.  This is the fifth consecutive year Brookhaven has earned this award.

Brookhaven, GA, March 9, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council has taken action to address the annexations east of Interstate 85 to complete redistricting prior to the upcoming municipal elections this fall.

Due to complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, The U.S. Census was delayed in receiving data, and currently anticipates local census data to be released at the end of September.  However, qualifying for November municipal elections in Brookhaven takes place Aug. 18-20.

Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 23, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Feb. 23 business meeting, held via video conference, with public input offered through email and by online comments on Zoom.  The action items are as follows:

Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 19, 2021 – Brookhaven’s Ashford Forest Preserve has been formally inducted into the Old-Growth Forest Network (OGFN).

Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 17, 2021 – The public is invited to join District 3 Councilwoman Madeleine Simmons for the February edition of her “Mondays With Madeleine” town hall, taking place the last Monday of each month. 

Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 9, 2021 – During its regular business meeting on Feb. 9, the Brookhaven City Council unanimously approved a resolution affirming the City’s support of the continued operations of the DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) at 2660 Osborne Road.
