City Council wrap-up for the March 16 virtual meeting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, March 16, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its March 16 business meeting, held via video conference, with public input offered through email and by online comments on Zoom.  The action items are as follows:

  • The Council held a public hearing and deferred to the April 13 meeting a rezoning from RS-100 to RS-50 at 1230 Kendrick Road to allow for a two-lot subdivision.
  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the Feb. 23 virtual Work Session and Regular Meetings.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance extending the COVID-19 State of Emergency to April 15, 2021.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the FY2020 Budget for year-end adjustments.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the FY2021 Budget to appropriate $8,096 from the General Fund to the CIP Fund for additional costs associated with the Briarwood Multiuse Path Project.
  • The Council unanimously approved a change order with Autaco Development to upgrade a sidewalk to a multiuse path at Briarwood Road in the amount of $54,994.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the FY2021 Vehicle Replacement Fund Budget appropriating $27,705 from the Vehicle Replacement Fund Reserve Balance to the Vehicle Replacement Fund Other Equipment Expenditure Account for the installation of an electric vehicle charging station at Murphey Candler Park.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the FY2021 Budget to appropriate $83,000 from the General Fund to the CIP Fund for the design of the Ashford Dunwoody Perimeter Summit Parkway Improvements Project.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the FY2021 General Fund Budget increasing intergovernmental revenue shared expense in the amount of $196,739 and appropriating $28,261 from the General Fund for the purchase of a Top End 285 Regional Trails Master Plan. The City will collect the $196,739 from members of the Top End Transit Executive Committee and will contribute $28,261.
  • The Council unanimously approved an agreement with Kimley Horn for a Top End 285 Regional Trails Master Plan.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to appropriate $116,870.79 from the FY2021 SPLOST Fund Reserves to the FY2021 CIP Fund for the purchase of property for the Ashford Dunwoody/Peachtree Intersection Project.
