FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 12, 2019 – For the third year in a row, the City of Brookhaven has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The award is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting given by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

“I am proud of our Finance Department for producing an excellent, comprehensive document that more than meets the high standards set forth by GFOA,” said Assistant City Manager and Chief Financial Officer Steve Chapman.

Brookhaven’s 2017 CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story.
