Brookhaven Police Foundation donates to Hot Pursuit

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 20, 2021 – The Brookhaven Police Department’s Hot Pursuit Glow Run received a boost this week from the Brookhaven Police Foundation.

On Tuesday, the Foundation donated a $10,000 check to go toward the race.

“I am grateful for the continued support from the Brookhaven Police Foundation,” said Police Chief Gary Yandura. “Through the years the foundation has provided generous support for our officers, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

The Brookhaven Police Foundation was formed about seven years ago by a group of residents with the intent to provide Brookhaven Police officers with financial and tuition assistance, safety equipment, emergency funds, and K-9 officer care. The annual Hot Pursuit 5K Glow Run takes place this year on Saturday evening, Aug. 28, at Murphey Candler Park. Proceeds from the event fund the Police Department’s yearly Shop With a Badge Christmas program, which allows underprivileged children to shop for necessities and holiday gifts while paired with a public safety hero.
