Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 12, 2019 – The City of Brookhaven is hosting an Arbor Day Tree Planting in Georgian Hills Park, 2800 Georgian Drive West, on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

“I encourage everyone to come out and celebrate Arbor Day in Brookhaven by helping make our already-improved Georgian Hills Park even better,” said Parks and Recreation Director Brian Borden. The City unveiled enhancements including a new open space field, walking trail, playground, picnic shelter and basketball half-court to Georgian Hills Park last year as part of the Parks Master Plan

Last year, the City’s annual Arbor Day event took place in Blackburn Park with the planting of about 40 trees.

Volunteers and City officials and staff will plant trees and spread mulch at the event, and should bring work gloves, water, and jackets for cold/rain. Registration will start at 8:30 and the planting will begin at 9.
