Brookhaven, GA, March 5, 2020 -- Brookhaven’s Eggstra-ordinary Easter Egg Hunt, designed specifically for youngsters with special needs, returns to Lynwood Park, 3360 Osborne Road, on Sat., April 4 from 10 a.m.-noon. The event is specifically designed to provide visually and hearing-impaired youngsters all the advantages of a regular Easter Egg hunt without hordes of kids all competing for the same eggs.

Along with all of the trappings of a regular Easter Egg hunt, including face painting, treats and photos with Peter Rabbit, scheduled activities include beeping eggs, magnetic eggs with wands to help find them, a bean bag hunt for sensory-sensitive children and other activities specially tailored to the youngsters.

The popular egg hunt, launched last year, is held on the park’s handicap accessible outdoor basketball court behind the recreation center. The court received a major renovation last year, compliments of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Insurance.

All those wishing to participate should bring their own basket to use when gathering the Easter eggs.  Participants are encouraged to bring along their siblings, who are welcome to participate in the event.

The Annual Brookhaven Easter Egg Scramble is slated for April 11 at Blackburn Park, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
