Brookhaven cancels Easter events

Brookhaven Easter events cancelled

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, March 19, 2020 – The City of Brookhaven announces the cancellation of its Easter events – Eggstra-ordinary Easter Egg Hunt, Dog Gone Easter Egg Hunt, and Easter Egg Scramble – due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are disappointed that we have to cancel these popular events, but this is a necessary step the City of Brookhaven has to take in preventing the spread of this dangerous virus,” said Parks and Recreation Director Brian Borden. “We look forward to these events returning next year.”

The City of Brookhaven declared a State of Emergency on March 16. The City has banned gatherings of over 50 people and has closed playground structures within the parks as well as the recreation centers to public use.
