Artists of all ages invited to ‘Paint the Park’ on Sunday, Oct. 16

Use Blackburn’s landscape as inspiration

Brookhaven, GA, Oct. 5, 2022 – The City of Brookhaven’s popular Paint the Park event returns to Blackburn Park in October. Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to use the changing fall colors of the park as inspiration on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The free event takes place at the pavilion near Ashford Dunwoody Road. To illustrate the importance of civic art, completed pieces will be displayed throughout the afternoon.

“Paint the Park is a fantastic way to enjoy an afternoon in Blackburn Park,” said Mayor Pro Tem and District 1 Councilwoman Linley Jones. “This annual event produces amazing artwork from our talented residents while showcasing the importance of civic art.”

Limited art supplies will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and artists are free to bring their own easel and canvas. Cool treats will be part of the fun, too.

Judging and prizes will also be part of the event, with awards given in age groups 7 and under, 8-13, and 14+. Winners will be featured in the City’s annual Paint the Park calendar.

Blackburn Park is located at 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
