Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 29, 2019 -- Cool weather and the changing Fall colors can bring out the creative “inner artiste” in anyone. What better time to capture the palette of autumn colors on canvas than at the annual Paint the Park event at Blackburn Park Pavillion, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road, on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The free event is open to artists of all ages and skill levels. To illustrate the importance of civic art, completed pieces will be displayed in the Pavillion near Ashford Dunwoody Road throughout the afternoon and then winning pieces will be on display at Brookhaven City Hall.

“This great event gets more and more popular every year,” said District 1 Councilwoman Linley Jones. “We believe that it not only illustrates the importance of art in our community, but also showcases the beauty of Blackburn Park. I am amazed every year at our local residents’ creativity and talent at all ages.”

Limited art supplies and paper will be provided, but artists are free to bring their own easel and canvas. Prizes will also be part of the fun with awards given in age groups 0-7, 8-13 and 14+.
