Brookhaven, GA, April 27, 2020 - Wash your hands and sanitize -- it's something health officials have urged everyone to do to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus. Thanks to the generosity of an entrepreneurial Atlanta businessman, this health practice has become a little easier for visitors and employees at Brookhaven City Hall and for officers in the Brookhaven Police Department (BPD) to utilize as they come on or off duty.

Chris Brady, a principal owner of JetSouth LLC, has donated use of the innovative free-standing units, valued at $1,100-$2,800 each, designed to offer first line defense against the virus by practicing immediate hygiene. The easy-to-use units are simply attached to a garden hose for a water source and a mounted manual pump on the sink dispenses soap. A foot pedal regulates water flow for hands-free operation.

Brady offered the units free of charge to the city and, as additional units become available, hopes to provide more of them for use in City parks. His company, based in Alpharetta, manufactures about 70 of the washing machine-sized units per day for commercial use. There are models in development that would be totally self-contained, eliminating the need for the garden hose attachment.

The units, have aluminum frames and commercial grade plumbing fixtures and are designed to withstand regular cleaning with gentle soap or harsher chemicals.

“We are very thankful for this generous offer from JetSouth,” said Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst. “We appreciate their efforts in helping us maintain the hygiene standards for City Hall visitors and staff.”
