Brookhaven joins Georgia Cities Week campaign to highlight City events, public input opportunities

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 28, 2021 – With the passage of a resolution at its Sept. 28 City Council meeting, the City of Brookhaven announces its participation in Georgia Cities Week, a statewide campaign by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) to bring awareness about local government and to spotlight events happening throughout cities. This year’s Georgia Cities Week is Oct. 3-9, with the theme “Shaping the Future.” Below are some activities happening in in the City throughout the week, in addition to ongoing public input opportunities that will help shape Brookhaven’s future: 

Monday, Oct. 4, 6-7 p.m. – Join District 1 Councilwoman Linley Jones for “Conversation With a Councilwoman.” The conversation will focus on various traffic calming solutions and the process to follow if a neighborhood is seeking to opt in for this strategy. – Blackburn Park Pavilion, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 5, 6 p.m. – Join the Brookhaven Police Department at its free National Night Out event at the Blackburn Park Pavilion. Meet the PD’s K-9s, drone unit, police explorers, S.W.A.T team, crime scene unit, and much more. The fun also includes food trucks, games, face painting, live music, vendors, raffles, and more. – Blackburn Park Pavilion, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
