Brookhaven announces cancellation of Brookhaven Counts Festival

Brookhaven, GA, March 12, 2020 – The City of Brookhaven announces the cancellation of the Brookhaven Counts Festival, Saturday, March 14 in an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 virus, which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11.

The City will continue to work with the Brookhaven Complete Count Committee to ensure that every member of our community has the opportunity to stand up and be counted in the 2020 Census.

The City of Brookhaven advises residents to continue following these preventative measure recommendations from the Georgia Department of Public Health:

• Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water
are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
