City Council wrap-up of the Sept. 8 virtual meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 9, 2020 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Sept. 8 business meeting, held via video conference, with public input offered through email and by online comments on Zoom.  The action items are as follows:

  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the Aug. 25 virtual Work Session and Regular Meetings.
    • The 2021 renewal of employee health benefits through CIGNA.
  • The Council unanimously issued a proclamation for National Support of Latino Business Day.
  • The Mayor and Council received a report from the Chief Financial Officer on the Four Year 2021 Budget Schedule.
  • The Mayor and Council received a presentation by the Brookhaven Epicurean Society regarding the culinary event at Peachtree Creek Greenway on October 24.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a contract amendment for Optech RWM, LLC for additional park maintenance for Langford Park and the FEMA lots located at 2652 and 2662 South Bamby Lane in the amount of $39,500.
  • The Council unanimously approved a contract award to Trees Atlanta to provide services in support of the Brookhaven’s Front Yard Tree Program in the amount of $10,000.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the General Fund 2020 Budget appropriating an amount not to exceed $309,384 from the General Fund Future Capital Improvements Assigned Fund Balance to the Professional Services Expenditure Account for the Development of the City Center Master Plan.
  • The Council unanimously approved a contract award to HGOR to provide professional services for preparation of the City Centre Master Plan for an amount not to exceed $309,384.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend Chapter 14, Land Development & Subdivisions, of the Code of the City of Brookhaven.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to deannex property from the City of Brookhaven located at 3228 Caldwell Road.
