City Council wrap-up for the Sept. 13 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 13, 2022 The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Sept. 13 meeting: 

  • The Mayor and Council held a public hearing for the CDBG Consolidated Annual Performance Report. 
     
  • The Mayor and Council received a presentation of the draft City Hall Space Program.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the August 23 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • A contract with Infrastructure Management Services, LP for $78,881 for an update to the City's pavement condition assessment.
       
  • The administration announced the dates of FY 2023 Budget hearings and adoption.
     
  • The Council unanimously adopted an ordinance to create the 2022 Special Service District (SSD) Fund Budget, to appropriate revenue in the amount of $6,000,000 and appropriate expenditures in the amount of $6,000,000, allowing for the creation of projects within the fund and allowing for the transfer of funding to reimburse the General Fund.  
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a resolution approving a program management contract between the City of Brookhaven and Comprehensive Program Services, Inc. (CPS) for the building of the Brookhaven City Hall and for reimbursement through anticipated bond proceeds.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an architectural contract between the City of Brookhaven and the Sizemore Group LLC not to exceed $3,000,000 for the design of the Brookhaven City Hall and for reimbursement through anticipated bond proceeds.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Fund Budget to recognize the closing of Capital Improvement Program Fund projects, approving of transfers of residual appropriations to the original funding source.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a task order under the On-Call Engineering Professional Services Contract for Michael Baker International for $290,120 for the design of streetscape improvements on N Druid Hills Rd (Special Services District Project #12).
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 General Fund and Capital Improvement Program Fund Budgets to appropriate an amount of $75,000 from the General Fund Unassigned Balance to the CIP Fund for costs associated with the playground construction of the Langford Park Project.
  • The Council unanimously approved an agreement with Kompan, Inc., in the amount of $216,810 for the purchase of the Langford Park Playground Equipment.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to approve the amended authorized position list of the City of Brookhaven.
