City Council wrap-up for the Oct. 12 virtual meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Oct. 12, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Oct. 12 business meeting, held via video conference, with public input offered through email and by online comments on Zoom.  The action items are as follows:

  • The Mayor and Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the Sept. 28 virtual Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • Acceptance of Governor's Office of Highway Safety Pedestrian Grant.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2021 General Fund Budget to increase grant revenue in the amount of $32,009 for the funding of a Pedestrian Safety Officer from the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend Chapter 21, Signs, Section 21-72, Nonresidential Use Regulations, Section 21-76, Illumination, Section 21-82, Wayfinding Signs, and exemptions.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement between Georgia Department of Transportation and the City of Brookhaven for traffic signal operations program (SigOps) coordination.
  • The Council unanimously approved a purchase order to Sunbelt Traffic for $261,435 for ITB No. 21-116, 2021 LMIG Safety Improvement Project.
