City Council wrap-up for the Nov. 30 virtual meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Nov. 30, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Nov. 9 business meeting, held via video conference, with public input offered through email and by online comments on Zoom.  The action items are as follows:

  • The Mayor and Council received a presentation and held a public hearing of the proposed FY 2022 Budget.  The FY 2022 Budget was subsequently approved.
  • The Mayor and Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the Nov. 9 virtual Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • An application to the Atlanta Regional Commission 2021 TIP solicitation.
    • Continuation for the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement for City of Brookhaven - State of Georgia contract pricing in the amount of $71,683.
    • An application for the Georgia Public Safety Officials and First Responders Supplement Grant.
  • The Council rejected a resolution of necessity prerequisite to the exercise of powers under the Urban Redevelopment law.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an extension of the Emergency Declaration Ordinance.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend Chapter 4 of the Code of Ordinances to establish criteria for Alcohol Permit Applications, to limit the issuance of a temporary Certificate of Occupancy, and other purposes.
  • The Council unanimously deferred an ordinance to amend Section 21-62, Prohibited Signs, until the Dec. 14 meeting.  The Council also enacted a moratorium on enforcement of the ordinance related to inflatables until that time.
  • The Council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the termination of the contract between City of Brookhaven and Construction 57, Inc.
  • The Council unanimously approved an emergency purchase order to Ohmshiv Construction, LLC. for $689,988 for completion of the roundabout at the Intersection of Windsor Parkway and Osborne Road.
  • The Council unanimously approved an amendment to the Confiscated Assets Fund Budget to appropriate $80,000 from the Confiscated Assets Fund Reserve Balance for the purchase of two Ford F250 special service vehicles.
  • The Council unanimously approved an amendment to the Vehicle Replacement Fund Budget to appropriate $33,000 from the Vehicle Replacement Fund Reserve Balance to cover additional funding for the purchase of three Ford Mustang electric vehicles.
  • The Council unanimously approved the Brookhaven Police Department to purchase three Ford Mustang Mach E electric vehicles and two Ford F250 special service vehicles.
