City Council wrap-up for the Jan. 25 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Jan. 26, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Jan. 25 meeting: 

  • The Mayor and City Council held a public hearing and subsequently approved the rezoning of property located at 3020 Clairmont Road from O-I (Office-Institution) Conditional to O-I (Office-Institution) with concurrent variances to allow construction of a medical office building.
  • The Mayor nominated and City Council approved the appointment of Amanda Doran to the Brookhaven Convention and Visitors Bureau.
  • The Mayor nominated and City Council approved the appointment of Carolina Ramos to the Brookhaven Arts and Culture Commission.
  • The Mayor nominated and City Council approved the appointment of Karstin Bodell to the Board of Appeals.
  • The Mayor and Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the Jan. 4 Special Called Meeting.
    • The minutes of the Jan. 11 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • Approval of revised billing rates for Bondurant Mixson & Elmore LLP
    • Application to 2023 and acceptance of FFY 2023 Governor's Office of Highway Safety Grant (GOHS), a pedestrian safety grant.
    • A settlement agreement and release of claims with Construction 57, Inc. and FCCI Insurance Company.
  • The Council unanimously approved the Windsor-Osborne Special Area Plan.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to appropriate $170,000 from the Lynwood Park Bond Project budget to Capital Project Management to increase the Jacob's Park Bond project management professional services.
  • The Council unanimously approved a contract amendment with Jacobs Engineering Group for project management services for the Park Bond Capital Improvement Program.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 budgets to appropriate $483,781 from the General Fund Sidewalk Bank Assigned Fund Balance to the Briarwood Multi-Use Path Improvement Project.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 budgets to appropriate $118,830 from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance to the Intersection Analysis Study at Dresden Drive Project to increase the revised scope of service and fee for the purchase order previously issued to Gresham Smith.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to extend the Declaration of a State of Emergency Arising Because of COVID-19 to February 28, 2022.
