City Council wrap up: Highlights from the Sept. 26 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 26, 2018 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Sept. 26 meeting at Brookhaven City Hall: 

·         The Council unanimously approved a resolution to establish the Brookhaven Arts Advisory Committee and the appointment of its membership. 

·         The Council unanimously approved to annex and rezone the 271 residences at Enclave at Briarcliff Condominiums at 1000-5308 Westchester Ridge.  The rezoning allows the existing structures to remain in place.

·         The Council allowed annexation and rezoning requests to be withdrawn for an apartment complex on Briarcliff Road and a commercial development on Clairmont Road.

·         The Council unanimously approved the purchase of employee health benefits through CIGNA.

·         The Council unanimously approved a Change Order in the amount of $163,635 for the Blackburn Park Open Space Field Project.  This change will add six additional electrical outlet stations to be placed around the concrete trail that will be be located around the open space field, and a turnaround driveway to be located adjacent to the large picnic pavilion located in the north end of the open space field.  This increase does not exceed the amount originally allocated in the project budget.

·         The Council unanimously approved a contract in the amount of $103,024 with CMEC, LLC to construct a roundabout at Colonial Drive and Oglethorpe Avenue.

·         The Council unanimously approved a contract in the amount of $250,000 with CMEC, LLC to construct intersection improvements at West Nancy Creek at Ashford Dunwoody Road to include left turn lanes on West Nancy Creek. 

·         The Council unanimously accepted a GDOT Project Framework Agreement for Ashford Dunwoody Road and Windsor Parkway and $560,000 in federal funds.
