City Council virtual meeting on Sept. 28

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 28, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting today, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. In consideration of social distancing recommendations, the meeting will be held via video conference.
In order to ensure transparency and accountability, the public will be able to weigh in during Public Hearings and Public Comment by any of the following options:

The Sept. 28 business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:
- A public hearing to rezone properties 1036 & 1040 Standard Drive from RS-75 (Single-Dwelling Detached) to RS-50 (Single-Dwelling Detached) to allow a combination plat.
- A public comment availability.
- A consent agenda which includes:
- The minutes of the Sept. 14 virtual Work Session and Regular Meeting.
- A resolution for the renewal of employee health benefits through CIGNA.
- A resolution recognizing Georgia Cities Week October 3-9, 2021 and encouraging all residents to support the celebration and corresponding activities.
- An ordinance extending the Declaration of a State of Emergency arising because of COVID-19; taking immediate emergency measures; establishing an effective date through October 31, 2021 and for other purposes.
- An ordinance to amend the General Fund Budget to Appropriate $100,000 to the Marquee Events Division of the Parks Department for the 2022 Cherry Blossom Festival.
