City Council virtual meeting on Oct. 12

Brookhaven, GA, Oct. 11, 2021 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. In consideration of social distancing recommendations, the meeting will be held via video conference.

In order to ensure transparency and accountability, the public will be able to weigh in during Public Hearings and Public Comment by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”) and on Facebook Live at www.Facebook.com/BrookhavenGAgov

The Oct. 12 business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A public comment availability.
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Sept. 28 virtual Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • Acceptance of Governor's Office of Highway Safety Pedestrian Grant.
  • An ordinance to amend the 2021 General Fund Budget to increase grant revenue in the amount of $32,009 for the funding of a Pedestrian Safety Officer from the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety 
  • An ordinance to amend Chapter 21, Signs, Section 21-72, Nonresidential Use Regulations, Section 21-76, Illumination, Section 21-82, Wayfinding Signs, and exemptions. 
  • An intergovernmental agreement between Georgia Department of Transportation and the City of Brookhaven for traffic signal operations program (SigOps) coordination.
  • A purchase order to Sunbelt Traffic for $261,435 for ITB No. 21-116, 2021 LMIG Safety Improvement Project.
