City Council virtual meeting on Dec. 8

Brookhaven, GA, Dec. 7, 2020 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. In consideration of social distancing recommendations by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and State Board of Health, the meeting will be held via video conference.

In order to ensure transparency and accountability, the meeting will be broadcast on Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/BrookhavenGAgov.  The public will be able to weigh in during Public Hearings and Public Comment by any of the following options:

The Dec. 8 business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A public comment availability.
     
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Nov. 24 virtual Work Session and Regular Meetings.
    • Consideration of Task Order #3 for Jacobs Engineering for construction management services for the Public Safety Building.
    • Consideration of adopting a sidewalk petition policy.
       
  • An ordinance to amend Chapter 14, Section 14-677, Sidewalks and Bicycle Lanes, providing updates to the City’s sidewalk program which allows for administrative approval for alternative sidewalk installation proposals where conflicts with other development standards or site conditions exist.
     
  • An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4, Related to the Consumption of Beer, Wine and Distilled Spirits on Licenses Premises; and for Other Purposes
     
  • An ordinance to Chapter 14, Land Development and Subdivisions, Article VIII, Floodplain Management, Section 14-792, General Standards, of the Code of the City of Brookhaven, provides modifications to the city’s floodplain management ordinances to further the establishment of the city’s Community Rating System (CRS) program.

  • An ordinance to establish a new project and amend the 2020 General Fund and CIP Budgets, appropriating $108,329 from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance for the design and construction of two monuments in the LaVista Park Special Tax District.
     
  • An ordinance to amend the 2020 General Fund, CIP Fund and SPLOST Fund Budgets, advancing $307,000 from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance to the CIP Fund and reallocating $800,000 from the SPLOST Existing Capital Asset Maintenance to SPLOST Transportation Improvements for the Ashford Dunwoody/Peachtree Intersection (MT-01) Project.
     
  • A Request for Right-Of-Way Abandonment – Apple Valley Road at Duncan Drive.
     
  • A contract with Ohmshiv Construction, LLC for Ashford Dunwoody Road / Peachtree Road Intersection Improvements in the amount of $1,309,417.
