City Council business meeting on Mar. 14

Brookhaven, GA, Mar. 13, 2023 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, Mar. 14, at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”).

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • The appointment of Interim City Attorney - Chilivis Grubman Warner & Berry LLP; Jeremy Berry (designated lawyer)
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Feb. 28, 2023, Work Session and Regular Meetings.
    • Retainer Agreement for Interim City Attorney - Chilivis Grubman Warner & Berry LLP; Jeremy Berry (designated lawyer).
    • Approval of Schwarz Law Firm, LLC; Solicitor for the City of Brookhaven.
    • The renewal agreement of Charles Abbott and Associates, Inc.
    • A resolution to adopt the DeKalb County Multi-Jurisdictional All Hazard Mitigation Plan.
    • An ordinance to amend to Chapter 21 Article III Sec. 21-83 Out-Of-Store Marketing Device of the City of Brookhaven.
       
  • An ordinance to amend the Charter for the City of Brookhaven as recommended by the Charter Review Commission for 2022 to add a preamble to the Charter, to amend Section 2.07 related to expenses and salaries for elected officials, and to amend Section 2.14 related to goals to reflect the diversity of the community on appointed boards and commissions.
     
  • An ordinance to amend the 2023 General Fund Budget appropriating an amount not to exceed $78,000 from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance to Public Works Repair and Maintenance Account to cover emergency repairs on Dresden Drive due to a ruptured waterline.
     
  • A task order to Response Environmental & Site Services (RESS) for $126,510 under the On-Call Contractor Demand Services Contract for Stormwater Infrastructure Repairs at and across 2396 Coosawattee Road.
     
  • A project agreement with the Central Perimeter Community Improvement District for the Ashford Dunwoody Road Corridor Improvement District.
