City of Brookhaven Comprehensive Plan 10-Year Update Open House

Community members invited to provide feedback on the draft 10-year update to its Comprehensive Plan

Brookhaven, GA, March 18, 2024 – The City of Brookhaven invites community members to an in-person Plan Celebration Open House on Thursday, April 11, 6 to 8 p.m. at City Hall. The public meeting will be an open house format for community members to review key elements of the draft plan update and provide feedback prior to its completion and anticipated adoption in summer 2024. There will also be an opportunity to review draft plan materials online, at the project website, starting April 11.

After the input period, the planning team will present plan highlights before the Planning Commission at its regular meeting on May 1. The plan will then be presented at a public hearing before the Mayor and City Council at its regular meeting on May 14 in preparation for transmittal to the State of Georgia Department of Community Affairs and Atlanta Regional Commission for state and regional review.

The planning team encourages the public to provide feedback and comments by April 30 in advance of the May hearings.

The 10-year update builds upon the City’s current Comprehensive Plan, while refining the plan to reflect new priorities and needs to support desired growth, development, and related needs.  The 10-year plan update includes refined policies and direction for each of the City's character areas as well as focus on housing diversification, equity, and furthering goals and initiatives of other planning efforts.
