Facility Services

The Facility Services Department is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the City of Brookhaven facilities.  This includes the management of the City Hall Building, the Public Safety Building, Parks & Recreation Buildings, restrooms, pools, parking, etc. as well as newly acquired properties.   Facility Services ensures that all buildings are in sound structural, mechanical, and electrical condition and safe for our staff and our citizens.

Essential department functions:

  • Planning, organizing, and maintenance oversight of the City of Brookhaven buildings
  • Providing direct services, as resources allow, at each location to include minor maintenance and repair which includes directing and inspecting work performed by employees
  • Conducting safety and quality inspections of all City of Brookhaven buildings
  • Ensuring the buildings are maintained in a safe, secure, and clean manner that meets OSHA, ADA requirements, and life safety code
  • Directing the construction, management, and maintenance of the department’s physical resources (COB buildings)
  • Oversees the department’s capital improvement projects; assists with the design of facilities; recommends the selection of consulting firms and negotiates and administers contracts with consultants, engineers, architects, or other service providers
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and sustain green work in the areas of maintenance operations and new and existing construction

As a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) certified by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), a member of the International Ethics Standards Coalition (IESC) the Brookhaven Facility Services Department under Greg's direction is committed to upholding the ethical framework for global property markets as defined by IESC.  This ethical standard is assessed and re-certified with each CFM recertification cycle (every 3 years).
